Why is modern society so prudish about
sexuality? How does it hurt children to know about sex? Can parental and
religious prudity and censorship cause childhood social ignorance, depression,
loneliness, and ultimately dysfunction and suicide? Parental
and religious prudishness can hinder children’s emotional and social
development, leading to ignorance, shame, and isolation. These struggles may
escalate into lifelong relational dysfunction or, in extreme cases, suicide.
